Whichever treatment you choose — reflexology, Reiki, massage or one of my Reset experiences — the hour itself is only part of the story. A few small choices before and after your visit can deepen the benefits beautifully. None of them are complicated; think of this as the gentle art of arriving well and landing softly.
Before your treatment
Drink water through the day. A well-hydrated body responds more readily to massage and lymphatic work — and you’ll feel better afterwards too.
Eat lightly. A heavy meal right before lying down isn’t comfortable for anyone. A light bite an hour or two beforehand is perfect.
Arrive a few minutes early if you can. Rushing in from traffic with your shoulders around your ears takes the body time to unwind from. A calm arrival means the treatment starts working sooner.
Wear something comfortable. Almost all of my treatments are received fully clothed, so soft, loose clothing is ideal.
During your treatment
Say what you need. Too much pressure, too little, too warm, too cold — please tell me. This is your hour, and no adjustment is ever a bother.
Let your mind wander — or sleep. There is no wrong way to receive a treatment. Some clients chat for a few minutes then drift; some are asleep before I’ve finished the first movements. All of it is welcome.
After your treatment
Drink water again. Especially after lymphatic work or massage — it supports the body’s natural clearing processes.
Plan a soft landing. If at all possible, don’t schedule anything demanding straight afterwards. Even half an hour of quiet — a slow cup of tea, a gentle walk — lets the calm settle in properly rather than evaporating in the school run.
Notice how you sleep. Many clients tell me the night after a treatment brings their deepest sleep in weeks. Head to bed a little earlier and enjoy it.
One last thing
Benefits build. A one-off treatment is a lovely reset; a regular rhythm — whatever spacing suits your life and budget — is where holistic care does its quietest, best work. However often you come, you’ll always be met with kindness here.
